Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop, June 24-27, 2004

The Sixth Annual Western Washington Shop Hop is an adventure in quilting, letting you explore new ideas, patterns, fabrics, books, and tastes from all over Western Washington. Best of all, each participating shop will have special discounts, giveaways and more, so load up your best quilting buddies and get ready for a road trip!

Here's how Shop Hop works. You pick up a passport at your closest quilt shop listed below. Passports are available around June 1st, so check with your local store. Every store you visit during shop hop will stamp your passport, which has room for 16 stamps. Turn your passport in at your final shop by 5 p.m. on Sunday, and you'll be entered in a drawing for the following prizes:

  • Grand prize: one person will win a Limited Edition of the Quilter's Dream by Elna. This machine has 99 stitches, programmable memory, a Plexiglas extension table, and it's signed by Eleanor Burns and comes with her book, Still Stripping After 25 Years. This machine is donated by The Quilting Place and all the shop hop shops.

  • Three people will each win a grand box of fabric, books, patterns and notions, worth about $500, donated by many of our manufacturers.

  • One person will win a free night on Wednesday, before the shop hop at the Palace Hotel in Port Townsend.

  • One person will win a free night at The Gathering Place, a quilters retreat in Stanwood.

  • More than 100 people will each win a $20 gift certificate to a participating shop.

All participating shops, listed below, will be open 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Thurs. - Sat, and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Visit each shop and enjoy the unique look of each individual place, discovering new patterns, ideas, fabrics and books. Each store has its own activities, so you might win a door prize or get a special treat! Each quilter will also be able to get a block pattern with some free fabric to start your own shop hop quilt!

Children under 10 will receive a 4" square of novelty fabric with their passport. We regret that kids under 10 cannot participate in the drawing, due to state age restrictions.

One bolt of fabric has been donated to each shop from In the Beginning Fabrics and FabricSales/Clothworks. Each shop donates all of the third fabric they have selected for their block in addition to purchasing additional fabrics from the manufacturers to use in their giveaways. You, of course, will provide other fabrics to finish your blocks and quilts.
